Just over 1000 students responding to our online survey told us...

  • Around a quarter say it is very much like them to fix or repair things they own rather than throw away or buy a replacement (24%).
  • A third (34%) say they look for things that will be long lasting when buying things like electronics or clothes.
  • Over half of respondents (56%) said they would be interested in rental, repair and maintenance services for electronic goods used during the academic year.
  • The majority (45%) of respondents say they spent £250 or less on new items to take with them when they started university.
